On its 60th anniversary, Evangel Hospital is honored to invite Professor Chan Wing Wah, JP Chairman of the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Limited (CASH), and Mr. Cheng Kwok Kwong, a renowned lyricist to create the anniversary theme song “Walking with the Lord.”
Professor Chan recalled that he has been familiar with Evangel Hospital since childhood, recognizing its service towards the citizens of Kowloon City. In his creative vision, he incorporated deep religious emotions and vibrant musical elements into the song with the aim to praise the Hospital’s grace and “holistic care” mission for the past 60 years. “Walking with the Lord” conveys love and hope through notes, aiming to touch the hearts of every listener.
Mr. Cheng described the song as the pinnacle of his music career, highlighting the deep understanding he shared with Professor Chan during their collaboration. He expressed deep resonance with the mission of Evangel Hospital to serve the community holistically, especially its dedication to care for the grassroots over the years.
Both of them wish the Evangel Hospital to continue upholding its founding intentions, bringing medical care and love to those in need, and carry on God’s grace, and let the mission shine in years to come.
The anniversary theme song “Walking with the Lord” is performed by artists Mr. Wong Cho Lam and Ms. Becky Lee.
Cho Lam expressed his admiration for Professor Chan and Mr. Cheng since his school days, and felt honored to collaborate with them. He also highlighted the strong rapport he shared with Becky during the recording. He thanked the Hong Kong Association of Christian Music Ministry Limited (ACM) children’s choir for performing on stage.
Becky reflected the experience of her relatives ’being cared for by the medical staff and pastor at Evangel Hospital. She greatly appreciates the opportunity to work with Professor Chan, Mr. Cheng, Mr. Wong and the ACM children’s choir.
They sincerely congratulate Evangel Hospital on its 60th anniversary and hope that its mission of holistic care and love will continue to benefit the community for years to come.
